Iranian authorities have updated the death toll from the 12-day war with Israel to 1,060, a figure they expect to rise due to the critical condition of many wounded. “Until tonight, we have buried 1,060 people, and the number of deaths will probably reach 1,100,” said Saeed Ohadi, director of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans, in an interview last night with state television.

Ohadi indicated that a large number of people remain in critical condition, which could increase the death toll from the war that began on June 13 when the Zionist entity launched a blatant and unprovoked military offensive against Iran, assassinating many high-ranking military commanders and nuclear scientists, as well as civilians, while claiming that the Islamic Republic was developing a nuclear weapon despite the lack of certified evidence.

Amid this, according to Press TV, an anonymous Iranian source said that Netanyahu’s regime wants the war to continue and U.S. President Donald Trump appears to be on board.

On June 22, the United States officially joined the war against Iran by launching attacks on three nuclear facilities in the country, in violation of the United Nations Charter and the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Regarding a recent U.S. offer of talks with Iran, the Press TV source added, “If Trump believes that after a military strike on our nuclear program, we would trust a diplomatic agreement with them, then he is not a good dealmaker.”

However, Iranian President Masud Pezeshkian has stressed that Tehran is willing to resume talks with Washington but warned that any negotiation requires guarantees against further miscalculations by the Israelis.
